Visa services for Australians, 27.05.2013

The Consulate-General of The Republic of Turkey in Sydney warmly welcomes Australian and other nationals wishing to visit Turkey for business or tourism purposes or those who seek education or working opportunities in Turkey. Tourist visa applications are normally processed within 24 hours of receiving all required documentation.


Australian passport holders traveling to Turkey require a visa.


Visas can be obtained at the point of entry in Turkey upon arrival or from this Consulate General before departure.


Sticker type visas which are issued at the point of entry allow staying in Turkey for up to 90 days. It costs 45 Euros or 60 US Dollars. If there is more than one person traveling on the same passport, each individual is liable to pay the visa fee. This type of visa does not permit to engage in paid or unpaid employment.


Please note that sticker type visas are not issued for the official passports. Official passport holders should apply to the Consulate General at all times.


Those who wish to obtain entry visa from the Turkish Consulate in Sydney should apply to the Consulate General in person or by post. Visa fee is 115 Australian Dollars. Applications through post should also include a registered envelope to have the passport returned. A passport size picture should be submitted with the application. Visa application form can be downloaded from our website.


Travel document holders need to apply to the Consulate General in person with his/her travel document with a validity of at least 6 months, a passport size photo and fill in an application form thoroughly.


All documents must be submitted to this Consulate General at least eight weeks before the intended date of departure. Please note that applications have to be referred to the relevant Turkish authorities for their approval.
